Essential Oils

Essential oils are the concentrated extract of plants, the actual essence of the plant. They can be distilled from many different parts such as the flowers, bark, roots, stalk and leaves.

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils to promote relaxation and inner and outer well-being.

The nerve in the brain that controls your sense of smell is called the olfactory nerve, and the in point of this nerve is in your nose. The part of your brain that connects to it is the temporal lobe which contains the hippocampus and the amygdala. The hippocampus plays a role in memory of past experiences. It connects all the different memory details and knows where in the brain they are stored. The amygdala is the center for emotions, emotional behavior, and motivation.

Essential oils contain volotile organic compounds - volotile means that the oil can evaporate and become a gas. A gas can be absorbed directly by the nerve and have a straight shot to the brain, bypassing the blood stream. So by inhaling these molecules you send them directly to the emotional part of your brain. Certain essential oils are known to be more energizing and uplifting and others more calming and relaxing.

Aside from using an aroma diffuser or an oil burner, you can put a few drops of essential oils under your pillow if you are trying to go to sleep. Another application is to put a few drops in your bath water, or in your sauna water bucket.

If you want to use essential oils for massage or put it on your skin, you should always dilute the oils with a carrier oil such as jojoba, almond oil or coconut oil.

Essential oils are usually mixed with a base oil and applied to the skin, or they can be inhaled. You can also put them into a diffuser that disperses the oils into the air as aromatic mist.

You get the same benefits as an essential oil, only that a roller is diluted with a carrier oil. This means that you can put the oil directly on pulse points and take it with you on the go. You can also use it as a natural perfume.

The main difference between essential oils and fragrance oils are that fragrance oils are manufactured in a lab and made of synthetic chemical compounds while essential oils are 100% natural - the pure essence of plants. Fragrance oils are commonly used in many of your everyday household products, because they are cheaper to produce, can keep the scent for a long time and have a long shelf life - but they are synthetic and contain toxic chemicals.

Some examples of products that commonly use fragrance oils are:
- scented candles
- reed diffusers
- many perfumes
- room sprays
- scented laundry detergent
- scented soaps, creams, deoderants
... the list goes on.

Essential oils on the other hand are 100% natural and pure scents, which gives you a natural alternative to scent your home and to incorporate into your daily life - while also getting the benefits from the oils.

Aroma Diffuser

With an aroma diffuser, you can naturally scent your home with essential oils. By diffusing essential oils you get all the aromatic benefits of the plants without any added chemicals or toxins (which many candles, room sprays and reed diffusers have).

When you add water to the bowl and add some drops of essential oils, the candle will heat the bowl and steam is formed which spreads in your home and gives it a nice smell with aromatic benefits.

Pour water into the bowl on top and add 3-6 essential oil drops depending on how strong scent you want to have. Light the candle. The heat will make the essential oils evaporate into gas which will create a pleasant scent.

Note! Never leave the aroma diffuser unattended. Make sure there is always water in the bowl when the candle is lit.

Our aroma diffusers are handcrafted in Sweden and made of durable stoneware clay. Every piece is unique and made with attention to detail.

- Always ensure that the bowl has enough water when in use

- Do not place the diffuser directly on delicate surfaces

- Always allow the diffuser to cool before handling

- Never leave lit candle unattended

After use, wait until the diffuser has cooled down before pouring away the leftover water. Wipe the bowl with a damp cloth to remove any residues.

If you want to add fragrance to your home you should buy a diffuser – but if you want to increase the humidity you need to buy a humidifier.

An electric diffuser will make the air a bit humid, but it won't make any real difference. In order to change the humiditiy in a room you need a real humidifier.

Hot Steam Eye Mask

Lonndeu's Hot Steam Eye Mask is a self warming mask that soothes tired and strained eyes. The eye mask warms up upon opening the package and generates a comfortable 40°C steam heat for approximately 20 min.

The eyemask stimulates blood circulation, reduces dryness, swollen eyes and helps prevent to dark circles.

Upon opening the package, it will take around 1-2 minutes before the hot steam eye mask is heated up to 40°C.

Yes you can, but we would recommed to use it without any makeup since the steam heat can cause your mascara and makeup to melt.

You should not use the eyemask with contact lenses on. Remove them before use for a nice and smooth experience.

- Do not wear contact lenses while using the mask or if you have any eye diseases, inflammation, sores, swelling, eczema or other abnormal conditions around the eyes.

- Consult a doctor before use if you are sensitive to heat or are undergoing treatment.

- Stop using the eye mask immediately if you feel that it's too hot, or if you feel any pain or unusual physical change or discomfort.

- The eye mask should be kept out of the reach of children.

- Avoid direct sunlight.
